The collaboration between NABA and Venchi, Italy’s historic company renowned since 1878 for its excellence in chocolate and gelato, has been renewed and strengthened. Once again, Venchi has invited NABA students to redesign the graphics and packaging for Easter 2024 and for Chinese New Year and the Mid Autumn Festival.
NABA designers creativity for Venchi’s new collections
Students from the BA in Graphic Design and Art Direction embraced the incredible opportunity to collaborate with the excellence of Venchi, redesigning the graphics and packaging for the Easter chocolate eggs and festive gift boxes inspired by Chinese traditions.
The elegance of Venchi renewed through NABA projects for the Easter collections
The creativity of NABA students from the Milan and Rome campuses, guided by lecturers Pietro Grandi and Daniele Marrone, sought to reinterpret the values that have made Venchi globally recognised for its premium products. The result is an aesthetic inspired by early 20th-century elegance, with a modern twist.

The eggs with the new student-designed packaging were displayed and sold in major Venchi stores across Italy.
NABA design for Venchi’s Mid Autumn Festival and Chinese New Year Collections
The packaging created by NABA students for Chinese New Year and the Mid Autumn Festival draws vibrant inspiration from Futurism. By blending the iconic and historical significance of these key Chinese cultural celebrations with the modern artistic flair of Giacomo Balla, the students produced limited-edition packaging collections with bold geometric motifs and vibrant hues celebrating the dawn of a new year and the Moon Festival.
The Mid Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, coincides with the full moon phases and nearly with the autumnal equinox. Bridging tradition and innovation, the packaging collections for the Chinese calendar holidays reinterpret the traditional Jade Rabbit imagery passed down through generations, and introduce a chocolate-based take on one of the most iconic Chinese desserts, the mooncake, with its distinctive artistic decorations.
