In over 40 years of history, numerous awards and accolades credited NABA as a prominent institution at an international level. In 2022, for the second year in a row, NABA has been selected as the Best Italian Academy of Fine Arts in the Top 100 worldwide in Art & Design field in the QS World University Rankings® by Subject. Since 2021 it is Partner, along with the best European universities, of the interdisciplinary cultural project “New European Bauhaus”, promoted by the European Commission to build a sustainable future for the new generations. In 2024, NABA will host the Biennial powered by ELIA, European League of Institutes of the Arts — a network for exchange and professional development in higher arts education, representing over 260 members in 48 countries. This underlines the recognition of the NABA’s commitment and ability to play a pivotal role among the major cultural institutions. Dicembre - Alice Pacor e Mario Penxho, studenti del Triennio in Graphic Design e Art Direction, sono stati premiati per la miglior proposta presentata nel contest lanciato da Blue Note per rinnovare lo storico logo.
Novembre - Giorgia Bucci, studentessa del Triennio in Cinema e Animazione, vince lo Student Award di Milano Design Film Festival (MDFF), contest nato per raccontare attraverso il linguaggio video Unknown Unknowns. An Introduction to Mysteries — la 23ª Esposizione Internazionale di Triennale Milano, con il suo progetto Gravity. Fra i progetti in selezione, sette sono le proposte degli studenti NABA, proiettate durante le giornate del festival.
Novembre - POP! Abitare, voce del verbo Popolare, progetto editoriale realizzato da NABA in collaborazione con MM spa è stato selezionato per l’edizione 2022 dell’ADI Design Index. La rivista e un video a essa dedicato sono fra le opere, le ricerche e i prodotti di design scelti per la mostra presso l’ADI Design Museum di Milano. Il progetto espositivo è stato poi riproposto alla mostra di ADI Design Index di Roma presso l’Istituto Enciclopedia Italiana Treccani.
Novembre – Gli studenti del Triennio in Graphic Design e Art Direction si sono aggiudicati numerosi premi nell’edizione 2022 dell’epda JUNIOR AWARD. Sara Bellesini, Serge Forgione, Riccardo Furini sono stati premiati con il JUNIOR GOLD AWARD 2022 con il progetto Moore; Alessandro Biglioli, Tea Bertoldi, Federico Gonzalez Galicia hanno ottenuto il SILVER AWARD con il progetto Organic Brothers. Il BRONZE AWARD è andato a Giulia Menini, Nicolò Moscatelli, Christian Napolitano, Simone Pastori con il progetto Ambreous. Menzione speciale per Thomas Borroni, Zoe Bortoli, Luca Gisonno per il progetto Ackua e per Denise Cattolico, Laura Sparacio ed Eleonora Tucci per Kleen.
Ottobre – Gli studenti del Biennio Specialistico in User Experience Design Sara Buongiorno, Sara Gambino, Michele Lomonaco ed Elena Migliorino hanno ricevuto la menzione speciale con il progetto Mamma Mia ai Digital Innovation Days Italy 2022.
Ottobre - Giovanna Pia Montrone, studentessa del Triennio in Graphic Design e Art Direction, ha vinto il contest VIAPADOVAMONDO nato da un’iniziativa di Tunnel Boulevard con l’intenzione di riqualificare un passaggio ferroviario di via Padova a Milano.
Settembre - Le studentesse del Triennio in Graphic Design e Art Direction Liliana Ray Bazzurro e Eleonora Arcusio hanno vinto il WPP Talent Award 2022 per il loro progetto per Bridgestone.
September - Simone Bozzelli, alumnus of the BA in Media Design and Multimedia Arts, has realized the Maneskin’s video clip I Wanna Be Your Slave awarded as the Best Alternative Video at MTV Music Awards.
January - NABA Fashion Design Area students Valentina Barbaro and Lia Ngujen have been selected among the finalists of MMF Milan Music Fashion, contest promoted by Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda.
December - NABA Alumni of Design Area have won several prizes at Ro Plastic Prize 2020, the contest conceived by Rossana Orlandi within the international project RO Guiltless Plastic.
For the Packaging Solutions category, Pietro Gaeli, Simone Caronni and Paolo Stefano Gentile have won the second prize with the Peel Saver project, ecological packaging for the street food; for the Industrial Design Category, Filippo Zonno won the third prize with the project RE-BOE born from the idea to recover e reuse the plastic from the sea.
December - Emanuele Cantò, NABA student of the MA in Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies, won Jury Prize of Concorso Prospettive 2020 on occasion of Filmmaker Fest with his short movie Io mi fermo qui.
December - The students of the BA in Graphic Design and Art Direction were the winners of the epda JUNIOR AWARD 2020 dedicated to good design and functional packaging. Winners (ex aequo): Catalin Cazac, Alessandro Fera and Camilla Fracassi with their project for a re-usable food delivery packaging; the team of Leon Accurso, Giovanni Caglio and Panpan Wang, and the team of Valentina Aquilini, Alessandra Negri and Corinna Parravicini with a concept for a mask packaging, re-usable.
December - Cantica21, the public call for Italian contemporary art, launched by both MAECI e MiBACT, selected 5 NABA students and alumni to be part of the 45 artists whose works of art will be presented in its exhibition, which will be displayed through foreign countries’ Italian Cultural Institutes, Embassies and Consulates. In the under 35 section was selected: Giacomo Segantin, student of the MA in Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies; the ex-students Camilla Alberti, Irene Coppola, Giovanna Repetto and Eleonora Roaro. Into the section Cantica21 dedicated to the poet Dante Alighieri, the artist and NABA Lecturer Marinella Senatore has been selected among the 5 winners.
December - The students of the Communication and Graphic Design Area were decorated at Spot School Award, Mediterranean Creativity Festival - The Youngest Award, winning: Gran Prix Città di Salerno-RAI Pubblicità prize, a Golden prize, a Silver and a Bronze prize in the Press Section, as well as a Bronze prize in the TV Section. NABA also won the Golden School Trophy, awarded to the Academy for the overall quality of the submitted campaigns.
November - The students of the Communication and Graphic Design Area were awarded at ADCI Awards 2020, the prize promoted by Art Directors Club Italiano, with 3 Bronze prizes:
Riccardo Rossi, student of the BA in Graphic Design and Art Direction, for the Design category; Sanjana Kadam, student of the MA in Communication Design for the Classic category; Sarah Alexander, Andrea Cornali, Deniz Eroglu, Francesco Fanizza, Lianne Van Lieropfor, students of the Academic Master in Creative Advertising for the Experience category.
November - NABA student Giuseppe Rocca with the project Basket Chair was awarded among the four finalist projects of the competition Una seduta per i musei promoted by MuseoCity with the patronage of ADI. The competition asked to design a mobile seat to be placed in the halls of museums to make them more welcoming for visitors.
September - Lucia Grande, student of the BA in Fashion Design, was awarded with the special prize for the category YKK Italia, for her outfit “Everyone sees what they know”, at the 6th edition of Milano Moda Graduate, the event organised by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, dedicated to Italian fashion school excellence.
