Introduction

NABA is a private institution belonging to the Higher Education in Art and Music (AFAM) system, a section of the Italian university system governed by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR).

All of NABA’s Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, and Academic Master’s programs are accredited by MIUR. Earning a degree from an accredited academy gives students an advantage when seeking work, and allows students to continue their studies in academies and universities in Italy and abroad.

NABA adopts an internal evaluation system of teaching and research activities, interventions on right to education and administrative management in accordance with the procedures of the Quality System UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 and ministerial regulations.

The above functions are performed by a collegial body called the Evaluation Committee.

The Evaluation Committee has been established for the first time in 2015. In 2026 it was renewed by Director’s Decree D.D. Nr. 16/2026, March 20th 2026; its activities extend to both NABA campuses in Milan and Rome.

Prof. Dario Giugliano, Chair
Dario Giugliano, Ph.D., is the editor of the journal “Estetica. Studi e ricerche” (il Mulino). A corresponding member of the Academy of Moral and Political Sciences of the National Society of Sciences, Letters and Arts in Naples and an associate researcher at the Institute for the History of Modern Philosophical and Scientific Thought of the Italian National Research Council (CNR), he is currently a full professor of Aesthetics at the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples (National Scientific Qualification as full professor, SSD 11/C4). He is a member of the advisory board of the journal “Third Text.” His essays have appeared in various Italian and international philosophy journals, including «aut aut» (Il Saggiatore), «Estetica» (il melangolo), «Rivista di Estetica» (Rosenberg & Sellier), «Rue Descartes» (P.U.F.), «Third Text» (Routledge), «Etica & Politica» (University of Trieste), «Teoria» (ETS), «Giornale di Metafisica» (Morcelliana), and “World Futures” (Taylor & Francis). His most recent books include: Breviario di Patafisica (Castelvecchi, Rome, 2020); Per una metafisica del proprio (Orthotes, Salerno–Naples, 2020); La comunità del senso. Introduzione a un’estetica geopolitica (Castelvecchi, Rome, 2022). He edited G.W.F. Hegel’s Aesthetics. The manuscript of the “Bibliothèque Victor Cousin” (Einaudi, Turin, 2017).

Prof. Antonella Poce, Member
Antonella Poce is a full professor of Experimental Pedagogy at the Department of History, Heritage, Education and Society at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, where she teaches Educational and Evaluative Research and Experimentalism, Narrative, Museum. From December 2020 to February 2023, she was a full professor in the same field at the Department of Education and Human Sciences of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, where she founded and chaired the international research center INTELLECT on heritage and museum education, well-being, and educational technologies. The center, still under her direction, is now inter-university and administratively based at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. She is a senior fellow of EDEN (European Distance and E-learning Network) and currently a member of its governing board. Her research at national and international level focuses on innovative teaching practices in the use and enhancement of cultural heritage and in educational technologies. She coordinates national and international research groups within European projects on these topics and has chaired international academic committees dealing with evaluation and distance learning. She is the author of numerous national and international publications on innovation, evaluation, and the use of technologies in teaching and learning, particularly in the field of cultural heritage education.

The Evaluation Committee is supported by the Quality and Accreditation Unit coordinated by Annalisa Bottoni.

In 2022, NABA obtained the UNI EN ISO 14001 environmental certification and positions itself as an institution whose core values include environmental protection and safeguarding. As a Green-Oriented institution, it pursues an active quality policy that includes, among other commitments, explicit efforts—at the organizational, operational, and technological levels—to prevent water, air, and soil pollution, minimize resource consumption and waste production, promoting their recycling and recovery.

NABA has received the Certificate of Civic Merit from the Milan City Council for its contribution to the development of culture and education in the Lombardy Region.

NABA has an agreement with Regione Lombardia (Lombardy’s regional authority) that allows qualified students to benefit from contributions given by the Authority for the Right to University Study (Diritto allo Studio Universitario, or DSU).

NABA’s Srl is certified by the auditing company Deloitte & Touche.

Since its foundation, NABA has been and continues to be a member of numerous international networks among which it is worth mentioning ELIA (European League of Institutes of the Arts) which associates over three hundred Universities in Arts and Design, Theatre, Music, Dance, and Cinema together with Cumulus Association, the leading global association to serve art and design education and research.

NABA is a founding member of the Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda ETS association that brings together Italian institutes, academies and universities that provide training courses related to the fashion industry, with the primary target of the affirmation of the identity of the Italian fashion education system and the promotion of excellence.

NABA has signed an agreement with the Ufficio Scolastico Regionale della Lombardia (-Lombardy’s Regional Department for Education)  for student orientation and teacher training activities and is accredited by Regione Lombardia as a higher education centre.

Together with the city's other universities, it participated in the creation of the Milan University System Portal.

It has collaborated and collaborates with various Italian and international cultural institutions and, among others, with: Triennale di Milano, Fondazione FORMA for Photography, MiArt Milano, Isola Art Center in Milan, Centro Alik Cavaliere, Castello di Rivoli, CTR Teatro dell'Arte, Documenta 13, DOCVA, Museo di Scienze Naturali, Museo di Fotografia Contemporanea, Provincia di Milano, Comune di Milano, Provincia di Torino, ADCI, Piccolo Teatro di Milano, laVerdi Auditorium di Milano, Diane Pernet ASVOFF, Associazione Sodalitas, United Nations Campaign for the Millennium Developement Goals, Photographers without Borders, AIM, Caritas, Libera, Terre di Mezzo, Praga International Marathon, Milano Metropoli Development Agency, WWF, Fondazione Magica Cleme.
