The Programme: overview

The Academic Master's programme offers an alternative approach to fashion design, analysing the system as a whole, examining its critical issues, and then offering alternatives for design, development, and storytelling. Starting from a dialogue with professionals, the programme focuses on the transversality and plurality of languages, encouraging alternative approaches and experimentation. After theoretical and practical analysis of traditional methodologies, students will have the opportunity to develop new, more contemporary and informed approaches.

Learning objectives
 • To map the entire supply chain, analysing the system from a technical, historical, and semiotic perspective.
 • To design fashion using new methodologies, working on the dialogue between storytelling and uniqueness, tradition and deconstruction.
 • To decode the elements of communication and contemporary cultural imagery, navigating the plurality of visual narratives across photography, fashion, and art.

The First-Level Academic Master's Degree in Fashion Design is an intensive, interdisciplinary programme aimed at providing advanced training and professional development in fashion design and contemporary visual communication.

The programme lays the foundation for in-depth knowledge of the subject and analyses the contemporary status of the fashion industry as a whole, through key courses in fashion history, semiotics, technical drawing and product development, collection design, new design techniques, image phenomenology, publishing, archiving, and graphic identity.

Through interaction with industry professionals, theoretical teaching and lectures, workshops, guided tours, and an internship, students will be able to develop a portfolio that showcases their skills and acquire appropriate, contemporary, and alternative methods to address the current fashion landscape and the world of work.
