Dejeuner sur l’herbe

Enclosed between three walls and one side of the villa, in the garden the plants grew in dense disorder: vines, hyacinths, tulips sprouted following God’s will.
In the background, a marble statue of Flora showed her charm. Every clod was radiating desire for beauty.

The project is a tribute to simplicity and wants to express the lightness approach of the artist on life.
The inner child of the artist allows her to look at life with disenchantment, with a different eye, an overturned perspective.
The child allows her to grasp nuances, emotions and ideas completely unknown to the adult human being. Through this perspective, the protagonist
manages to enjoy and admire the smallest things.

"SS21 Déjeuner sur l'herbe reminded me of the large green and yellow spaces I used to see in my car when I was child, travelling with my father, observing those blond and vast fields of wheat, rich in warm colors, of poppy flowers and daisies.. in a distant twilight, warm, joyful, quiet of, a wonderful time."

The stereotype of the woman as the object of desire: let’s feed it.

The key to reading is ironic, an afternoon of play where the imperfections are highlighted and adapted to the context, deriding the patriarchal perspective of society.

In a lush English garden, a young woman is represented in three different moments of her being, up to the reunion with the Earth, symbolized by the contact of her body with the lawn.

Suspended, ethereal, mind-boggling.
La Serra is Catherina’s favourite place; every full moon goes to this place to dedicate her memory to pure souls.
Desolate, quiet, pragmatic.
La Serra is like Catherina; now forgotten, abandoned, not cultivated.
Spirited, extravagant, bizarre.
Catherina doesn’t want to be like the Serra; free to be and to express itself, she would not be able to contain his world in a glass box.

Observing and respecting nature, including its extraordinary manifestations, contrasted with the trivialization and mechanization of modern man, which takes value from the most beautiful and important things.
Often fears and mental superstructures do not allow us to fully live the emotional reach of certain events, such as birth.

"Starting from the stylist’s reflections, my work has gone further in the narrative, trying to explore the emotional state that has been created in us during this period.
From the discovery and the pleasure of being together through social networks, to excess of commitments, realizing at the end that that the sense of inner emptiness persisted in each of us, making us feel like we were locked in a bubble. A bubble from which we can, however, free ourselves by practicing our passions. Living by doing what characterizes ourselves. Expressing our interiority. Rediscovering nature and the world that surrounds us."

Surrounded by nature, a painter looking for inspiration paints en-plen-air. As she looks around she notices a girl lying on the grass, ready to take a pic-nic, and attracted by her natural elegance in perfect harmony with the scenery that surrounds her, she decides to portray her.
