Students from NABA Bachelor of Arts in Design have created a collection of unique interior design pieces in collaboration with Frette, following the principles of upcycling to give new life to unused fabrics from the iconic luxury lifestyle brand. The best designs proposed by these young talents were selected by the company to be prototyped and exhibited at Frette’s showroom in Milan during the Fuorisalone event.

Upcycling and design: NABA young creativity reinvents Frette’s iconic elegance
The creativity of the Design students, led by Area Leader Claudio Larcher, intertwined with Frette’s luxury lifestyle identity to reflect on the value of upcycling. This collaboration gave birth to a collection of unique interior design objects. Using the refined fabrics from Frette’s past collections and emphasizing waste reduction in design, students embraced the challenge of creating new interior concepts under the theme “beyond the bedroom”, exploring decorative objects for the home and beyond.

NABA designers' projects on display at Frette in Milan
The collaboration with NABA’s young design students became an opportunity to tackle the challenge of upcycling, starting from Frette’s textile heritage. These materials inspired the creation of new interior design objects.

Lamps, sound-absorbing panels, furniture pieces, play tents for children, and items for pets: this series of decorative objects, crafted by NABA students using Frette’s cottons and silks, highlighted the timeless quality of the brand’s fabrics. It also marked a step forward toward a sustainable future, blending aesthetic research with environmental awareness in design processes. The best student projects were turned into prototypes and displayed at Frette’s showroom on Via Manzoni in Milan during Fuorisalone, celebrating NABA’s emerging creativity and the core values of the Frette brand: artisanal excellence and design sensitivity, combined with innovation, forward-thinking, and environmental sustainability.
