From the boutique to the metaverse, the ways of enjoying the fashion world are changing. That is why NABA is working to explore the digital dimension, where the main actors of the industry work on new languages. The MA in Fashion Design students created one of the most prestigious virtual collections. Twenty-five of Franca Sozzani's garments are also digital 3D artworks right now. They can be purchased on SPIN by lablaco - NFT metaverse for luxury, fashion, art and culture. All profits will go to The Franca Sozzani Fund for Preventive Genomics at Harvard Medical School.

NFT and fashion: the MA in Fashion Design students' artworks

From September 15 to October 30, the artworks and related garments by the iconic former editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia will be on display and for sale at the Fondazione Sozzani headquarters, Via Enrico Tazzoli 3, Milan. Here, visitors can explore the collection and will be able to discover the provenance of each piece as SPIN's blockchain technology tracks all owners in perpetuity. Digital vintage clothes enter the future of the fashion system through a Web3 project promoting circularity.

Students taking part in the project are Carlotta Civolani, Chiara Amico, Maria Llinares Torregrosa, Fatma Süleymanoglu, Gizem Nur Bag, Sureyya Süleymanoglu, Jiabei Gao, Arda Paris Akay. The MA in Fashion Design alumna Akanksha Srivastva supported them. Such a process enriched the know-how acquired during didactic programmes. As Colomba Leddi (NABA Fashion Design Area Leader) said, such an experience offered students a unique opportunity to raise new skills and awareness of their heritage. Moreover, the archive becomes a tool for innovation, widening the available possibilities to those who want to make fashion.
