NABA takes part to Aperossa UnArchive, the event created and promoted by Fondazione Archivio Audiovisivo del Movimento Operaio e Democratico, with an audio/video showcase taking place on 20th October at 7.30 pm, in Rome’s Teatro Garbatella. The event is part of the Festa del Cinema di Roma’s schedule, in its Risonanze section, that includes the Academy for the second consecutive year.

The first of the projects presented by NABA, “A Freshers’ look”, pictures Ostiense and Garbatella areas in a series of short films realised by the students of the BA in Media Design and Multimedia Arts, curated by lecturer Giovanni Giommi and supervised by Vincenzo Cuccia, BA’s Course Leader. Led by the camera, NABA’s freshers explore an unknown part of the city. Through interviews to its inhabitants and images, they describe its distinctive places, experimenting with the documentary format and picturing the city with a fresh and vivid point of view.

The Academy also presents “Voci su Garbatella”, an audio documentary project created by the students of the BA in Media Design and Multimedia Arts and curated by lecturer Rodolfo Sacchettini, under the supervision of Vincenzo Cuccia that evokes the neighborhood’s history, through the sounds and words of its protagonists. The images created by the students of the BA in Painting and Visual Arts and curated by lecturer Gea Casolaro complement the audio documentaries.

The Aperossa project gathers around itself a series of artistic and interdisciplinary initiatives aimed at offering multiple opportunities for the socio-cultural growth of the community. Aperossa UnArchive is one of these initiatives which aims to promote and make known new creative incipits in terms of re-semanting and expressive intersections.
