This is a key and crucial figure, having the task of managing the purchase of a series of products, taking into account fundamental elements such as trends, the target market and possible business aspects which may arise from this activity.
Aware of the fashion industry’s different phases, this figure is able to understand the concept of brand identity, recognise trends and has technical skills in textiles, prototyping and developing a collection, in addition to a solid marketing background.
Fashion Buyers manage purchases for a company’s physical and/or online stores, considering the company’s identity, market analysis and a specific target group.
In addition, they are in charge of moderating the purchasing activities and consequently also the relations with the various suppliers.
These are professionals with a deep knowledge of the fashion system, who must keep updated on all the processes belonging to this industry, not only from the point of view of the product, but also of the different means of use recently developed (e-shop, social media etc.).
You can become a Fashion Buyer through a university degree or a first level and second level academic diploma.
