Costume design - Milan

Costume is a broad field that keeps changing, and it reaches well beyond the stage into film, dance, concerts and live shows. This course gives an overview of how costume designers work across these areas. Participants look at what a costume is made of and how it helps build a character, paying attention to history and personality as much as to proportion, colour and materials. They then analyse case studies from the field, looking at how established costume designers have turned a text into a set of costumes.

• Combine traditional and digital approaches to develop and present a costume portfolio.
