The Academic Master in Photography and Visual Design aims at preparing emerging professionals for their access into the world of photography, arts, and national and international communication. NABA students Lily Violette and Beatrice Valessina took their first steps toward this path. They are collaborating in the "Lumière Passion" project - a Thomas Mailaender's exhibition at the Centre Photographique Marseille, open from May 27 to September 10. Their intervention can be watched until July 1 via live streaming on the museum's Twitch channel.

Between performance and installation, the Thomas Mailaender's work

Lily Violette and Beatrice Valessina's contribution to the creation and ongoing transformation of "Lumière Passion" is there for all to see. The exhibition project constantly evolves; it explores the borders of performance and installation. Thomas Mailaender and his assistants continue to plunge, mix, coat, light, expose, print, bind, project, recycle, and destroy images and installations. They display all these gestures to the public at the same time they perform them. Until July 1, it is possible to watch the intervention on the Twitch channel of the Centre Photographique Marseille.

Thomas Mailaender was born in Marseille in 1979 and currently lives and works in Paris. He is known for using a wide range of mediums, including ceramic, cyanotype, photography, and collage. In the artist's works, there is an attempt to update obsolete photographic processes and an attitude to incorporate found imagery and objects into his works. From the Tate Modern in London to the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, his work has been exhibited in some of the world's most important art venues.
