NABA presents DESIGNERS + MAKERS – SHOWROOM, an initiative for the Master of Arts and Academic Master's programmes in the Fashion Design Area, taking place on Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 September 2026, from 10 AM to 7 PM in the Arena space at the NABA campus in Milan (Via Carlo Darwin 20). This year, the event has been included in the official calendar of Milano Fashion Week® S/S 2027, organised by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana. This recognition highlights the Academy's role as a hub for research, experimentation and project development, where technical expertise and learning by doing come together with new visions of contemporary fashion.

NABA presents DESIGNERS + MAKERS – SHOWROOM: student projects on public display during Milano Fashion Week® 2027

The event aims to give the public an insight into the processes, skills and practices that make up the creative production chain developed within the Academy and its Fashion Design Labs: from textile design and knitwear to accessories and sneaker design.

Through an exhibition featuring images, materials, objects, projects and collections, DESIGNERS + MAKERS traces the different stages that lead from the initial concept to the finished fashion item. In doing so, it gives the city and industry professionals access to NABA's spaces and research activities, celebrating the expertise and ingenuity behind making and the visions of a new generation of designers through original collections.

DESIGNERS + MAKERS – SHOWROOM, now in its fourth edition, gives students on the Master of Arts in Fashion Design the opportunity to present, during Milano Fashion Week, the outfits they have created as the culmination of their studies, creating a space for exchange and discussion. Visitors – including journalists, lecturers, members of the public and industry professionals such as stylists and buyers – will be invited to explore and evaluate the collections on display, including garments, accessories and lookbooks offering deeper insight into each project. The collections are the outcome of a programme of study that combines research, tailoring, pattern cutting, knitwear and textile design, highlighting the dialogue between technical experimentation and creative development. The projects address themes including sustainability, upcycling, generative design, artificial intelligence, textile heritage and material innovation, offering informed, contemporary approaches to design. The students' diverse cultural backgrounds also give rise to original narratives in which identity, memory and research become tools for interpreting the transformations and opportunities within the international fashion system.

The exhibition will also feature a selection of projects from the Master of Arts in Textile Design and the Academic Master in Sneaker Design, offering an overview of the creative and production processes explored within the Fashion Design Area's postgraduate programmes.

With artistic direction by Andrea Cammarosano, Course Leader of the Academic Master in Sneaker Design, the initiative is promoted by Colomba Leddi, NABA Fashion Design Area Leader, and Luca Belotti, Course Leader for the Master of Arts programmes in Fashion Design and Textile Design, and for the Academic Masters in Fashion Digital Marketing and Fashion Management.
