A prestigious opera performance, a didactic experience rewarding talent: the BA in Set Design students contributed to the production of sets and costumes for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "La finta semplice". Under the guidance of Margherita Palli (set designer and Bachelor of Arts in Set Design Course Advisor Leader), they collaborated with the production of Festival di Carnevale del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. The performance premiere will take place at the Teatro Goldoni in Florence on January 24. The opera will be on stage until January 29.

The Festival di Carnevale and NABA students' contribution

Romeo Gasparini, Alice Rossi, Michela Negretto and Pierfilippo Luigi Tortora are the Set Design Area students who had the opportunity to work on sets and costumes of "La finta semplice". Not only Margherita Palli contributed to the project, but also NABA lecturers Marco Cristini, Eleonora Peronetti and Emilia Zagnoli. It is just on of the experiences enriching the skills of BA students who wish to become set designers.

Born in 1933, the Festival di Carnivale del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino is one of the oldest and best-known opera events in Europe. Over time, it has become a reference point for the most important names of lyric theatre. It combines international vocation, classical repertoire and contemporary compositions. Focusing on Faust and Goethe, this edition includes Mozart's opera involving NABA students.
