On the occasion of Milan Green Week 2025, scheduled from September 18 to 21, 2025, the NABA campus in Milan (Via C. Darwin 20) will open to the public as part of the widespread programme of grassroots events which, also in this new edition, will highlight the commitment of citizens, associations and organisations that work every day for a Milan attentive to environmental issues, the care of green spaces and the wellbeing of people.

On September 18, the Academy will present the exhibition of the projects “Il Parco del Cammino/Il Cammino del Parco”, a brief assigned to students from the Communication and Graphic Design Area and the Design Area during the previous edition of Milan Green Week. The event will take place from 4:30 to 7:00 PM in Classroom T 0.0. Furthermore, the public will be able to attend the award ceremony conducted by the Councillor for Environment and Green of the Municipality of Milan, Elena Eva Maria Grandi, for the best thesis from the Communication and Graphic Design Area dedicated to the theme of sustainability, awarded by NABA’s Sustainability Committee, as well as the screening of the documentary “Tempesta”, which was also launched during the previous edition of Milan Green Week.

NABA at Milan Green Week 2025: the exhibition

The exhibition, organised by NABA, will showcase the results of the project for a new linear park in Milan, based on a proposal by Massimo Mulinacci, President of the Council of Municipality 5. The project envisions a green network designed to connect the natural areas of Municipalities 5 and 6, offering an urban experience centred on inclusion, visual orientation and sustainability. Its goals include improving urban mobility, reducing pollution and promoting citizens’ wellbeing, by linking Municipalities 5 and 6 through a green corridor that brings together around 50 urban elements, including parks, gardens and squares.

The project involved NABA students in co-design activities to develop solutions in wayfinding, urban design and visual communication, in dialogue with the existing cityscape. These were developed following a walk in which the Guardie Ecologiche del Verde (Ecological Green Guards - GEV), together with councillors and aldermen of the Municipalities, shared with the students the botanical, faunal, historical and socio-cultural features of the territory that the linear park would connect. The exhibition will be opened by Patrizia Moschella (NABA Communication and Graphic Design Area Leader), who will once again emphasise how tree planting and the expansion of green areas are among the most effective strategies to mitigate the effects of pollution and urban overheating in highly compromised cities such as Milan.

Alongside Councillor Grandi, the event will also be attended by Natale Carapellese (President of Municipality 5 of Milan), Fabrizio Delfini (Councillor for Urban Sustainability, Mobility, Green Spaces and Animal Welfare, Urban Planning, Commerce, Tourism and Security of Municipality 6 of Milan), Massimo Mulinacci (President of the Council of Municipality 5 of Milan), Annalisa Bottoni (NABA President of the Sustainability Committee and Academic Affairs Senior Manager), Germana De Michelis (NABA BA in Design Course Leader), Luca Giulio Ferreccio (NABA Lecturer), and Luca Poncellini (Design and Applied Arts Department Head at NABA).

NABA at Milan Green Week 2025: the screening of the documentary “Tempesta”

On September 18, it will also be possible to attend the screening of the documentary “Tempesta”, produced by students of the BA in Film and Animation in collaboration with the Department for Environment and Green of the Municipality of Milan. The documentary explores the theme of eco-anxiety, drawing inspiration from the storm that struck Milan in July 2023.
