Pasolini's thought will be under the lens of XR technologies. On the occasion of Maker Faire Rome 2022, NABA presents "PPP, mente incarnata" - a study and research proposal for a prototype of performative virtualisation of Pier Paolo Pasolini's multimedia work. The project will be presented on the Main Stage at the Gazometro in Rome via del Commercio 9-11, on 8 October from 6:00 PM. The talk will also be live on the event's YouTube channel.
Pasolini's work read through VR and AR
"PPP, mente incarnata" comes from a didactic experience born within the course in Multimedia installations of the NABA Rome campus. Here students explored the potential of the latest digital technologies as well as the work of one of the 20th century's most attentive thinkers. They have had the opportunity to learn and apply the potential of Virtual and Augmented Reality. Such technologies will be the means to look at Pasolini's corpus, searching for a deeper and more experiential truth.
Angelica Alinei, Ester Aureliano, Alex Ciuffardi, Alessandro La Marca, Alice Pievaroli, and Sara Romano are the students and of NABA Media Design and New Technologies Area who have worked on three pivotal topics of Pasolini's work. "La madre e la rosa", "In ognuno era il mondo" and "Finestra senza confini" are true explorations of affections, places and the needy; they interpret the author's poems, films and places. By looking at interdisciplinarity, the didactic project involved student Irene Coveri and the NABA lecturer Antonella Cirigliano, both from the Set Design Area.
Maker Faire Rome 2022 is an opportunity to find out more about the concept and developments of "PPP, mente incarnata". During the talk, Antonello Faretta (director, screenwriter, producer and NABA lecturer of Multimedia installations) and Alessandro Cracolici (NABA lecturer), students Angelica Alinei and Ester Aureliano, and alumnus Alex Ciuffardi will take the floor.
