NABA takes part in Fashion Graduate Italia 2023, the event promoted by Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda ETS, to be held from October 24 to 26 at BASE Milano and streamed on Fashion Graduate Italia site.
On this occasion, the Academy presents "MAKERS, FASHION and TEXTILE" which will feature students from the Fashion Design Area of Milan campus in the NABA Fashion Showcase, which can be visited during all days during event hours, and in the NABA Graduates Fashion Show, scheduled for October 24 at 2:30 PM.
NABA's programme at Fashion Graduate Italia 2023
Fashion Graduate Italia is an opportunity to discover the projects of designers from the best fashion schools and academies. During the first day of the event, on October 24, the NABA Graduates Fashion Show of the students of the MA in Fashion Design, will be held at 2:30 PM. The Fashion Show, dedicated to the 8 best collections from the MA, selected by a jury of industry professionals as part of "SHOWROOM" the event held on the NABA campus last September 18, represents an aesthetic narrative of making that is expressed in the creation of works and cultural, workshop and experimental experiences. It will be possible to follow the Fashion Show on NABA YouTube channel.
The students of the MA in Fashion Design from the Milan campus who will present their collections are Carlotta Cilloni, Yuehan Dai, Arianna Dainelli, Luciana Gagliardi, Min Gao, Merve Karali, Meghana Govinda Reddy, Samia Charlotte Nelly Saadieh Jeanine Saad. The Academy will also unfold in the Fashion Showcase curated by NABA lecturer Luisa Cevese, designer, founder of Riedizioni, finalist of the Premio Maestri dell’Eccellenza presented by LVMH in collaboration with Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, Confartigianato and with Maison Fendi. The exhibition space aims to emphasize the value and importance of Makers and laboratory work, for formal and expressive textile research. A place of making that presents some of the fundamental equipment and a selection of the most significant creations by the students of NABA MA in Textile Design with these tools.
The Fashion Showcase will present the projects of the students of the MA: Jingjing Chen, Yijie Liu, Elena Paiano, Alessia Romeo, Shuimiao Xie, Yingfang Zhang.
From October 19 to April 7, the activity of the students of NABA Fashion Design Area will also be at MUDEC - Museo delle Culture. In the Agora of the Museum, it will be possible to see the textile installation "Luce dietro tracce incompiute" by Mexican artist Mariana Castillo Deball, created by MUDEC - Museo delle Culture in collaboration with the students of the Fashion Design Area.
