NABA in collaboration with Fondazione Cinema per Roma presents the first edition of Z-PITCH Contest, dedicated to students and to those who have been graduated for less than one year from Italian Cinema and Media Design Schools.

Z-PITCH invites generation Z to propose audiovisual storytelling projects (in the formats of feature film or serial project), original and not yet produced.

The project, born within the activities of Rome City of Film UNESCO, aims at valorising and bringing to the attention of cinema and seriality professionals the ideas of young authors and filmmakers that are still students or newly graduated, who demonstrate talent and ability in identifying issues of relevance to the contemporary world, as well as originality in telling stories through the audiovisual. Those who are interested in participating in the contest (launched on December 1st) can submit until March 7th, 2022 at midnight by clicking here.

The best projects will be selected by a commission composed of lecturers and professionals chosen by NABA and Fondazione Cinema per Roma such as Alessandro Bertante, writer and Course Leader of the BA in Film and Animation (evolution of the current BA in Media Design and Multimedia Arts, subject to authorisation by MUR for A.Y. 2022/23), Beatrice Baldacci, Media Lab NABA and the only Italian director to win Biennale College Cinema, receiving its financing for her film “La Tana” previewed at 78th Venice International Film Festival and selected at Alice nella Città, parallel section of Rome Film Fest, Alessandra Fontemaggi, Cinema Office of Fondazione Cinema per Roma and Alexia De Vito, Special Projects of Fondazione Cinema per Roma, that will select 6 finalist projects, to be announced by the end of March 2022.

Later on, the candidates will showcase the selected projects in a dedicated event, during which the jury will award the winner of this first edition of Z-PITCH Contest, who will get the chance of presenting their work at Rome Film Fest 2022, for possible production development.
