NABA student selected as finalist for Redress Design Award

Beatrice Bocconi, student of the BA in Fashion Design, has been selected as one of the finalists of Redress Design Award 2020, one of the most important sustainable fashion design competitions, for her project “Felt in the streets”, a capsule collection based on zero-waste and upcycling, that revolves on workwear and streetwear aesthetics by giving a new life to different types of scraps of fabric and aims at proving that it is possible to produce apparel to be trend-setting and sustainable at the same time.

The Redress Design Award was born to sensitize emerging fashion designers about sustainable design processes and techniques in order to drive growth towards a circular fashion system; it challenges young designers to flex their creative genius and prove they can transform textile waste into stunning, scalable and commercially viable collections.

In the next weeks, the finalists will bring their concept to life and then will present their collections in Hong Kong on September at the live Grand Final where the winners will be announced.

Good luck!
