Distance learning for NABA Milan Campus educational activities

Update 05/11

Dear students,

as you may have heard already from the news, the government has issued a new regulation against the pandemic, and Lombardy - the region of Milan - will very likely be in the "Red Area", the one that will face harder restrictions.

As for Universities, the law imposes a stop on all activities, and we have no alternatives: from tomorrow, we will switch to a 100% remote class policy and we will close the access to all the labs.

This will remain valid until the 3rd of December.
If we restrictions will be softened, or the regonal colour code will be changed earier than that, allowing us to resotre activities in-campus, I will let you know promptly.

Tomorrow at 17:00 I will be live from the Student Council Instagram account @consulta_mi, to respond to any of your queries and doubts.

The time ahead is not going to be easy for anyone. Academic issues aside, I hope NABA will remain a valid interpersonal support for faculty and students, as it was for the past lockdown.

My best wishes to all of you,

prof. Guido Tattoni
Dean

Update 09/03

Dear Students,

The Italian Government, with the Prime Ministerial Decree issued yesterday, March 2020, asks an additional effort to Italian citizens and residents, and in particular to those who are living in Lombardy and in few other provinces.
This is a due procedure we all have to comply with, in order to limit as much as possible the diffusion of the virus and to support our Public and Private Health System to face this sanitary emergency in protection to the most vulnerable people.

Therefore, academic activities will continue remotely until the 3rd of April.

We invite you all to take advantage of this situation by dedicating yourself to blackboard activities and make this alternative learning system more effective.

We are confident we will be able to deliver almost the entire set of lessons of the period.

We will be studying solution or reschedule at the first time possible any content which will be barely adaptable to the online delivery.

We will keep you posted, anyway.

Exams and thesis discussions will remain suspended. We are assessing remote opportunities/solutions (also according to the Ministry of Education note, issued on March 6th).

We would like anyway to assure you that it is clear to us all your different needs and that we will put our best effort in proposing personalized solutions.

You have our commitment on this point.

All offices will be still closed to the public but open remotely, mainly via e-mail.

We highlight the total closure of the Library, of Labs, student lounges and Cafeteria.
Counseling services will be possible only online.

We kindly ask you to interrupt the pack shipment at the NABA post office and to use the own domicile.
Packs already on the way can anyway be collected at the usual opening hours.
Amazon lockers will be anyway always accessible.

International students with need of support in English for matters other than Academic inquiries, can refer to the “International Students” dedicated page in MyNABA.

The situation still requires patience and effort by all of us, but we all have to be confident about the return to normality.

Kind regards,
prof. Guido Tattoni
Dean

NABA, due to the recent decision of our government, which include closing the universities until mid March, will extend remote classes for an additional week.

Therefore, academic activities will continue remotely until the 15th of March. Exams, theses discussions, and work experiences will remain suspended. We are looking into the possibility of carrying out theses discussions remotely, we will update you in the next few days.

Moreover we highlight that Labs, student lounges and Cafeteria will remain closed.
The library will will offer land-service on appointment (contact library@naba-da.com).
Counseling services will be available also online.
The other offices will be closed to the public but open remotely.

The situation still requires patience and effort by all of us, but we all have to be confident about the return to normality.

Update 25/02

Dear students,

At the moment new schedules and catch-up solutions for the suspended didactic activities, including merit and degree exams, are under evaluation.
Specific communication will be sent as soon as confirmed. We expect it won’t happen before February 27th-28th.

We are currently receiving hundreds of e-mails: we thank you in advance to limit requests/communication to the essential, in order to allow offices to work on the activity rescheduling plan.

NABA will take care to constantly follow the evolution of the situation in agreement with the Italian authorities.
We will promptly inform our community of any further developments that will be published on MyNABA and official NABA website!

.....

To the students and faculty of the Milan Campus of NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti:

In light of the latest developments regarding the situation related to the spread of the Coronavirus COVID-19, NABA follows other Academies and Universities in Lombardy by adopting measures for the prevention and protection of public health.

Therefore, solely as a precautionary measure, from Monday, February 24th to Sunday the 1st of March, at the Milan Campus of NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti the didactic activities (such as lessons and seminars), exams and graduations sessions will be suspended. Also, the laboratories, the library and the study rooms will be closed to the public. Administrative activities will however remain functional as usual and the offices may be contacted via email.

We believe that, in the absence of further directions from the Authorities, all activities will be able to be resumed on Monday, the 2nd of March.
Students who would be unable to attend the Academy even in the days following March the 1st, because are resident in municipalities still affected by a restrictive measure, will be allowed to take any eventual exams at a later time.

Further information, however, will be provided when appropriate.
The NABA Campus in Rome remains open as usual.
We will promptly notify you of any updated news. However, please consult the MyNABA intranet and our social pages systematically.

Once again, please follow the latest guidelines and future updates regarding hygiene and prevention.
For additional information about this matter, please contact us by sending an email to: segreteria@naba.it.
