Z generation's creative ideas will take the stage at Casa del Cinema of Villa Borghese in Rome on April 11, starting from 4:30 PM. The public pitch is the chance to introduce the six finalist projects of the Z-PITCH audiovisual storytelling contest in front of a qualified audience. The event ends a programme that had its most crucial formative moment with the masterclass on April 4. After the public presentation, jurors will award the Best Pitch and the Best Project.
The event will be available in live streaming on NABA YouTube channel.

Z-PITCH: the masterclass on storytelling and pitching

Z-PITCH was born from the collaboration between NABA and Fondazione Cinema per Roma within the activities of Rome City of Film UNESCO. The masterclass has been a meaningful moment to train the public pitching session. The lesson was held by Stefano Tealdi - a well-known producer, director and tutor responsible for workshops on storytelling and pitching. A tutoring session dedicated to project writing was held by feature film and series screenwriters Giorgio Glaviano and Vinicio Canton (president and vice-president of WGI-Writers Guild Italia). Furthermore, Domizia de Rosa (a long-standing member of Warner Bros and President of WIFTMI - Women in Film, Television and Media Italia since 2021) and Maria Grazia Bergoli (Project Manager of TV and Cinema productions) proposed a didactic moment focusing on the topic of diversity. On this occasion, the students got feedback on their projects and had a conversation with participating professionals.

Z-PITCH: the event, the winners, and the jury of the storytelling contest

During the public Pitching session on April 11, the finalists will have the opportunity to introduce their projects in front of a special jury of audiovisual professionals. The new generation of authors will get the opportunity of sharing their point of view. This contest and the possibility of having their projects under the spotlight are a unique opportunity for the selected young authors, students and recent graduates from NABA, Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and Civica Scuola di Cinema Luchino Visconti: Alberto Palmiero and Davide de Rosa, Annapaola Ragno and Matteo Ducceschi, Francesco Vittor, Michele Polisano and Alessandro La Marca, Silvia Mangione, Veronica Postacchini. Winners will get an advanced training course with ad hoc tutoring on how to introduce their projects in Italian and international market platforms. They will also receive accreditation for the next edition of the Rome Film Festival.

The jury sees the participations of professionals such as Marica Stocchi (Producer at Rosamont), Laura Buffoni (Senior development executive and producer at Fandango) and Geremia Biagiotti (International Sales Manager Intramovies).

NABA's path for young authors and the Academic Master in Screenwriting for Series

Z-PITCH is part of a broader proposal having creative writing for cinema and series as one of NABA's academic priorities. That is also why the Academic Master in Screenwriting for Series is born. The intensive course is specifically designed for the Rome campus (subject to authorisation by MUR currently in progress for A.A. 2022/23). It focuses on theories, methods and design practices. The development of cross-disciplinary skills, necessary for audio-visual screenwriting as well as for the development of cinematographic  or serial projects of national and international relevance.
