Two new Summer Courses to live an experience never seen before

"Fashion system: research on Italian creativity" and "Art and responsible textile conversation" were, respectively, in collaboration with ApritiModa and Archivio Clemen Parrocchetti. They both provide a two-week didactic path combining the campus experience and field trips.

Below is some info about the courses.

Fashion system: research on Italian creativity

The course will allow students to discover the great heritage of the Italian fashion system and understand the reason why the so-called Made in Italy is paramount worldwide. Next to on-campus lectures, students will visit four institutions and companies involved in ApritiModa (among others, Museo Salvatore Ferragamo in Florence; Francesco Maglia Milano - Ombrelli Artigianali dal 1854 in Milan; Teatro la Fenice in Venice). Thanks to this experience, they will gain awareness of the historical, artistic and industrial context and development of the Italian style and fashion system.

Art and responsible textile conversation

The course will last two weeks: the first week will be spent in the village of Borgo Adorno, where students will have chance to explore matters related to fabric dyeing, focusing above all on the use of natural materials derived from locally grown plants. Here they will also visit and analyse artist and painter Clemen Parrocchetti’s Archive. During the second week, they will work in the Textile laboratories at the NABA campus in Milan.
