Thanks to a path of research and experimentation consolidated throughout her studies in Fashion Design at NABA, student Annachiara Rabito was awarded the Fashion Designer Award at the 2025 edition of Milano Moda Graduate – promoted by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana during Milano Fashion Week – before a prestigious audience and an international jury.

This recognition not only celebrates the student’s creative talent, but also the journey of professional and personal growth that, within the Academy, has enabled her to embrace an interdisciplinary approach and constant experimentation between theory and practice.

NABA at Milano Moda Graduate 2025: the “COSPLAYER” collection wins the Fashion Designer Award

With her collection “COSPLAYER”, Annachiara reflects on the use of clothing as a tool of status and on the authenticity of personal expression. Her project stems from a theoretical and practical path developed in the Academy’s courses and laboratories, where she explored clothing as both an instrument for asserting status and a counterpoint to the authenticity of self-expression, drawing inspiration from Susan Sontag’s Camp aesthetics and Georg Simmel’s theories.

The result is a collection that plays on duality: unfinished garments reveal the underlayers, accessories serve as symbols of ostentation, and labels and receipts are transformed into elements of critique of consumerism. A work that stands as the expression of a personal and mature language, able to convey social commentary through fashion.

NABA at Milano Moda Graduate 2025: the other collections by the selected NABA students

In total, four students from NABA’s BA and MA in Fashion Design were selected to bring their creations to the catwalk of Milano Moda Graduate 2025. Alongside Annachiara Rabito, who presented her collection in the Fashion Design category, the following students also took to the runway:

  • Maria Palomba (BA in Fashion Design) with “AURA – Il ruolo del colore nel dialogo emozionale tra corpo e materia”, a women’s F/W collection exploring the relationship between body, colour and identity, presented in the Fashion Design category.
  • Martino Losco (BA in Fashion Design) with “METAMORFOSI”, an evening dress featuring zippers as a transformative element, showcased in the special section by YKK Italia.
  • Samuele Ruta (MA in Fashion Design) with “DENIM FUTURO”, an innovative, dynamic and modular denim outfit, also presented in the special section by YKK Italia, main partner of the event.

“AURA – Il ruolo del colore nel dialogo emozionale tra corpo e materia” by Maria Palomba stems from the need to investigate the intimate connection between body, colour and identity. Central to the design process was a careful study of materials and textile techniques able to adapt to the body and its emotions, generating an introspective language with a strong visual impact.

“METAMORFOSI” by Martino Losco, by contrast, is minimalist in form yet surprising in function: the garment transforms thanks to a zip system that reveals a voluminous skirt. Made from ultralight nylon and ripstop, the dress combines aesthetics, technique and contemporary vision.

“DENIM FUTURO” by Samuele Ruta, entirely crafted in denim and reinterpreted through an innovative design approach, presents structured volumes and YKK zips that create a dynamic and modular garment. Departing from traditional denim codes, it embraces a new dimension. The project stands as a manifesto of transformation and movement, where denim becomes a symbol of evolution and vision for the future.
