The NABA Rome Campus launches the second edition of “NABA CHATS,” a series of talks established in 2023 which, every Thursday at 6:00 PM in Room 0.01 of the Rome Campus (Via Ostiense 92), invites guests from various academic disciplines to present their artistic research. From book presentations to noteworthy cinematic case studies, the invited speakers will share their perspectives on key reflections and insights shaping their fields, engaging in open dialogue with the audience. These conversations, designed to provide unique insights into the latest trends and developments permeating contemporary artistic practices, will commence on Thursday, October 24, and follow the Academic Year calendar, with simultaneous Italian-English translation provided.
NABA presents the second edition of “NABA CHATS”: the first two events
The first event, titled “Dizionario Taroni-Cividin. Concetti e pratiche performative,” will take place on Thursday, October 24, and will feature a conversation between Roberto Taroni (artist) and Daniele Vergni (Scienze dello Spettacolo PhD), moderated by Caterina Iaquinta (NABA BA in Painting and Visual Arts and MA in Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies Course Leader). This is followed by the appointment on Thursday 7 November, entitled “Rovine, mia famiglia”, which will see Gabriele Paolocà (actor, director, author) in conversation with Valerio Polici (artist and NABA lecturer) on the theme of interdisciplinary artistic reworking.
NABA presents the second edition of “NABA CHATS”: the upcoming events in November and December
On November 14, the event “Bloom Forever. Instaserie botanica” took place, featuring a conversation between Giulio Michelini (photographer and Art Director) and Diego Manfreda (BA in Fashion Design Course Leader). The following Thursday, November 28, we hosted the talk “L'architettura al tempo dell'educazione”, during which Matteo Costanzo (Architect, 2A+P/A – CAMPO) engaged in dialogue with Daniele Mancini (BA in Design Course Leader). On December 5, the spotlight will turn to “Vestire storie: il racconto documentario”, with Francesco Zippel(director and producer) in conversation with Fabio Capalbo (BA in Film and Animation Course Leader). On December 12, “Extraits de création. Sacralità e ossessione della ricerca della bellezza” will feature Filippo Sorcinelli (Creative Director) in discussion with Diego Manfreda (BA in Fashion Design Course Leader).
Finally, on December 19, “Manualetto. 12 lezioni che non si insegnano a scuola” will take place, with Stefano Mirti (designer and educator) engaging in a dialogue with Daniele Mancini (BA in Design Course Leader).
NABA presents the second edition of “NABA CHATS”: the upcoming events in January
The “NABA CHATS” series resumes on January 16 with the event “Sandeep! L’abito reinventato”, featuring Paolo Gentilella (director) in conversation with Clara Tosi Pamphili (MA in Fashion and Costume Design Course Leader).

NABA presents the second edition of “NABA CHATS”: February’s talk with Pierfrancesco Favino
On February 6 at 6 PM, the event "Il Mestiere dell'Attore" will take place at NABA’s Rome Campus, hosting Pierfrancesco Favino. The renowned actor and film producer will be in conversation with Margherita Ferrandino (journalist, director, and screenwriter), retracing the most significant milestones of his career with students and the audience, sharing experiences and anecdotes from his artistic journey, and delving into the relationship between actor and director by recounting aspects of his on-set experience. The event will be introduced by Fabio Capalbo (BA in Film and Animation Course Leader at the Rome Campus).
The event is open to the public with prior registration on Eventbrite.
NABA presents the second edition of "NABA CHATS": the March events
March will also feature a rich programme of "NABA CHATS". On March 3, the talk "Altierato a memoria" will feature Maurizio Altieri and Luca Lo Pinto in conversation with Diego Manfreda. On March 13, it will be the turn of "Quante Rome? Tante", featuring Nicola Gerundino in conversation with Alessio Ferri.
The final session of the month, "Tell me stories!", will take place on Thursday, March 20, with Manuela Pacella (art writer and NABA lecturer) in conversation with Giulia Crispiani (editor, translator, writer, visual artist, and NABA lecturer) and Valerio Mannucci.

On April 3, the talk "La genesi di Hanno Ucciso l’Uomo Ragno: com’è nata la serie dell’anno" will feature Francesco Agostini (Screenwriter) and Fabrizio Cristallo (Editorial Manager and NABA lecturer) in conversation with Francesca Staasch (NABA Master in Screenwriting for Series Course Leader).
NABA presents the second edition of "NABA CHATS": the May events
The second edition of "NABA CHATS" concludes in May with three must-see appointments. On May 8, the session "La macchina delle immagini di Alfredo C." will feature Roland Sejko (Film Director and Editorial Director at Archivio Storico Luce) in dialogue with Driant Zeneli (Visual Artist and NABA lecturer), introduced by Caterina Iaquinta (NABA BA in Painting and Visual Arts and MA in Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies Course Leader).
On May 15, the second meeting of the month, "Il valore delle differenze. Progettare contesti per culture diverse," will take place. Andrea Schiattarella (Architect and CEO of Schiattarella Associati) will discuss with Daniele Mancini (NABA BA in Design Course Leader).
The series concludes on May 22 with "La luce, femminile singolare," featuring Daria D’Antonio (Director of Photography) in conversation with Fabio Capalbo (NABA BA in Film and Animation Course Leader).
