The made in NABA outfits walk on one of the most important international runways dedicated to emerging designers. On October 16, Fashion Design Area student Weiren Theo  presents five looks at Graduate Fashion Week International 2022 (GFWi). Partnering with Pearl Academy, the event will take place at the Jio Wold Garden in Mumbai from October 13 to 16. The purpose is to elevate exceptional International talents to a global audience at Lakmé Fashion Week - the biggest fashion event in India.

The made in NABA outfits on the GFWi runway

Since 2011, GFWi has been bringing together the best fashion design talents from around the world by emphasising differences and decentralising fashion. This year, 80 institutions - including the world's leading fashion schools - will participate in the event. The aim is to support creative talents. This edition's selected outfits include those of the BA in Fashion Design student Weiren Theo.

GARҪON SARONG” is a men's collection where sarong is at the core. It aims to renew the traditional Malaysian and Indonesian garment distinguished by its bright colours. The collection wants to make this piece attractive to the younger generation, as the art and culture of the sarong are at risk of extinction.

In addition to the fashion show, the Academy took part in the takeover event on October 7. On this occasion, GFWi's digital channels hosted a series of content ranging from the campus tour to footage dedicated to Weiren Theo's outfits.
