What is the purpose of a magazine in the 2020s? That's the challenging question behind "Escape from the contemporary - Magazine Design to explore ways out of the collapsing world" – the launch of the editorial projects born within the MA in Visual Design and Integrated Marketing Communication. The event will take place at Triennale Milano on June 23

The launch of magazines: event information

"Escape from the contemporary": concept and credits

In an era when visual culture travels on mostly digital channels, magazines represent an incisive and fascinating form of expression and communication. They are still able to generate small (sometimes tiny) communities of real people who recognise and know each other in perhaps naïve ways and worlds, feeding off each other's skills and passions.

The presented editorial projects arose within the Art Direction - Magazine Design course curated by Leonardo Caffo (philosopher and NABA lecturer) and Roberto Maria Clemente (NABA lecturer and Creative Director - Studio FIONDA). Besides them, the students and authors of the magazines, Fabio Pelagalli (Course Leader of Communication and Graphic Design Area MAs), Serena Scarpello (Head of Content - MoSt, Editorial Studio) and Francesca Spiller (Founder - Reading Room) will take the floor during the launch event.
