On January 30th and 31st, from 3 pm to 6 pm, took place “Not so critical”, the online event hosted by the third year of the BA in Painting and Visual Arts’s course held by Elvira Vannini, art historian, critic, curator and NABA lecturer. It was the first online event by Critical Studies Department, the research-oriented space and the collaborative process created by the students of the MA in Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Not so critical”, developed through studio visits, dialogues and presentations of works of art and exhibition projects, is a project born to be the perfect moment for students to experiment the tool of group critical reflection, without judging and competition logics.
It is a mutual transformation process, a dynamic act of creation: a melting pot capable of giving everything a new life.
A digital event created to question oneself and the surrounding world, to find new ways of relating with things and to build a critical thought starting from a constructive and collective point of view.
Critical Studies Department is an in-between space, the point of contact between the academic and the outside worlds. A symbiont that exists and realises itself through the institution developing itself outside it, and constantly generating a dialogue between different entities.
