What is a Copywriter?

A Copywriter is a creative professional who is responsible for conceptualizing communication projects and writing texts within the creative department of an agency or independently (if freelance).

What does a Copywriter do?

The copywriter participates in brainstorming sessions and is tasked with finding concepts and ideas within the projects they are involved in, regardless of the media. They must be able to handle both traditional means (print, TV, radio, and billboards) and more innovative ones (social media, websites, app microcopy, digital media in general). Once the pure ideation phase - often carried out in tandem with an art director - is completed, the Copywriter is responsible for writing all the necessary texts to enhance the creative project.

What skills should a Copywriter have?

Among the main skills of a copywriter are:

  • imagination and creativity
  • perfect command of at least one language (spoken and written)
  • curiosity and attention to trends
  • basic knowledge of marketing

How to become a Copywriter?

By cultivating a passion for reading, writing, cinema, music, and undertaking a dedicated study path focused on Copywriting and internships in a communication agency to take the first steps in the profession.
