Fashion as a tool capable of transforming the landscape in which it is immersed. "FASHION LANDSCAPES - The NABA Campus Fashion View 2022" took to the catwalk the collections by Rome and Milan students of the BA Programme in Fashion Design. The Fashion Show made in NABA connected two physically distant events into one. It combined live and virtual experience to bring the Via Carlo Darwin, 20 (in Milan) campus and that of Via Ostiense, 92 (in Rome) as close as possible. The fashion show was also live streamed on the Academy's YouTube and Twitch channels.

The Milan and Rome fashion shows: the concept and the event

This year, the Fashion Show featured 40 collections selected by a jury of NABA alumni, journalists, professionals and partnership: 30 from the Milan campus and 10 from the Rome campus. Proposals took inspiration draw "FASHION LANDSCAPES" - a concept by Nicoletta Morozzi (NABA Fashion Design Advisor). The outfits interpreted a condition of constant change, contrasting signs, and physical and immaterial realities. Each of the creations looks at fashion as a means for transforming geographical and interior scenarios. It could perhaps be the first step towards a new placement of the fashion universe in the culture of contemporary communities. Young designers' collections go to the root of their social role with lightness, irony or even drama. In any case, they stay close to the body.

The "FASHION LANDSCAPES" concept also gave rise to the final presentation promoted by Colomba Leddi (Fashion Design Area Leader), with the Artistic Direction of Paolo Bazzani (Art Director and NABA lecturer). The fashion show set-up and walkway were articulated through the spaces of two campuses hundreds of kilometres apart. The aim was to create an organic event that merged NABA Milanese and Roman venues. The keystone was the unexpected flashmob that took place simultaneously in the two locations. Hence the most unprecedented and pioneering moment of the fashion show started: creative looks took the catwalks in succession. Thanks to screens, guests in Milan could follow the fashion show in Rome, and vice versa. At the same time, the event was on NABA's Twitch and YouTube channels with live comments by alumni Riccardo Scaburri, of Lessico Familiare, and Leonardo Persico, Stylist and Consultant. The final element of dialogue between the two campuses was the live musical accompaniment by the Saint Louis College of Music with students from the Electronic Music department.

After the live performance, it was possible to take a closer look at all the students' works and the 2022 edition of the Academy's annual Magazine. It includes all the contents related to the communication of the collections and some of the special projects carried out during the Academic Year. It is possible to discover more about it at the link fashionview.naba.it

"FASHION LANDSCAPES - The NABA Campus Fashion View 2022" can be relived on the Twitch and YouTube channels.
