Fashion as a tool for transforming the surrounding landscape. "FASHION LANDSCAPES - The NABA Campus Fashion View 2022" presents the collections by Rome and Milan students of the BA in Fashion Design. The Fashion Show made in NABA will take place on June 28, starting at 10:30 AM. The event will merge two physically distant fashion shows into one, combining both the live and online experience to bring the Milan and Rome campus as close as possible. The Fashion Show will take place in via Carlo Darwin, 20 (in Milan), and via Ostiense, 92 (in Rome). Entrance is free, subject to availability. It will also be possible to follow the live streaming on the Academy's YouTube and Twitch channels.

The Milan and Rome fashion shows: the concept and the event

This year, a jury of NABA alumni, journalists, professionals and companies selected 40 collections by the students of the BA in Fashion Design (30 from the Milan campus and 10 from the Rome campus). Proposals took inspiration from "FASHION LANDSCAPES" - a concept by Nicoletta Morozzi (NABA Fashion Design Advisor). The outfits on the catwalk try to interpret a condition of constant change, contrasting signs, and physical and immaterial realities. Each of the creations looks at fashion as a means for transforming geographical and interior scenarios. It could perhaps be the first step towards a new placement of the fashion universe in the culture of contemporary communities. Young designers' collections go to the root of their social role with lightness, irony or even drama. In any case, they stay close to the body.

From the concept "FASHION LANDSCAPES" also comes the final presentation promoted by Colomba Leddi (Fashion Design Area Leader), with the Artistic Direction of Paolo Bazzani (Art Director and NABA lecturer). The aim is to create an event merging the Milanese and Roman realities of NABA. The fashion show set-up and walkway are articulated through the spaces of two campus hundreds of kilometres apart. However, the audience can enjoy every fashion show moment from both locations. Thanks to screens, guests in Milan can watch the fashion show in Rome, and vice versa. Furthermore, it will be possible to follow the whole event on social media. A final element of dialogue is the live musical accompaniment provided by the Saint Louis College of Music with the students of the Electronic Music Department, which will combine the sound of the fashion shows on the two campus.

At the end of the live performance, it will be possible to discover all the students' works and the 2022 edition of the Academy's annual Magazine. It includes all the contents related to the communication of the collections and some of the special projects carried out during the Academic Year. It is possible to discover more about it at the link fashionview.naba.it.
