The new NABA Department is a co-creation space and an idea hub, founded as a "Research Center" in 2021. It collaborates with national and international academic and institutional partners for the ideation and development of strategic projects in the fields of artistic research and education. DRAFT supports, organizes, and implements research in the academic field. It aims to bring together the potential, projects, and synergies of NABA faculty by offering a space for convergence, incubation, and development within our institution. DRAFT is a space that promotes a culture of exchange and good practices across various areas of design and artistic research.
Research and Innovation
This department area was created to identify, select, analyze, support, strengthen, and enhance the most significant, original, and innovative research topics at NABA. Practice-based working groups have been formed, composed of tenured faculty and young researchers, with the goal of gathering and promoting nationally and internationally relevant projects, conferences, seminars, and publications.
Doctoral Research
This department area was established in 2023 with the launch of the national and international PhD program. Dedicated to identifying a highly specialized framework in the fields of arts and design, it has a practical orientation and aims to attract young talents capable of driving research and artistic production in our field.
Faculty Training
Part of DRAFT is the faculty training area, where a series of initiatives organized by NABA aim to support teachers in their daily activities with students, as well as improve their teaching experience by activating lifelong learning processes or introducing innovative teaching tools (Blackboard LMS, special educational needs course, etc.).
