The event of independent magazines and the NABA publishing projects

Mag To Mag is a brainchild of Frab's Magazines & More - a portal specialised in the sale of independent and collector's magazines. Thanks to the partnership, NABA reiterates its focus on magazine design. Four editorial projects born in the Academy will be at Mag To Mag. Among them are the first and second issues of "This Charming Mag" - a magazine created within the Art Direction 2 course of the MA in Visual Design and Integrated Marketing Communication. In Bologna, there will also be "POP! Abitare, voce del verbo Popolare" - the magazine that portrays the numerous initiatives born from the joint project between the Academy's students and the inhabitants of the public housing complexes of Milan, created in collaboration with MM. Two other magazines will be at the festival: "Nothing To See Here" and "Darwin 20". The first one is a yearly didactic project by students of the Academic Master in Photography and Visual Design. On the other hand, "Darwin 20" is realised by students of the BA in Fashion Design, Fashion Styling and Communication specialisation. Year by year, it reports some special projects and those collections that are presented at the Fashion Show in the Milan and the Rome campus.

As part of the event, the public talk "These charming mags" will be held on May 6 at 6 PM. Different topics will be explored by Fabio Pelagalli, NABA MA in Visual Design and Integrated Marketing Communication Course Leader, NABA lecturers Roberto Maria Clemente and Leonardo Caffo, and the students of the Art Direction/Magazine Design course at the NABA Milan Campus such as how a magazine is developed in an Academy and what are the reasons that drive a generation born and raised digitally to conceive, create and print a paper magazine.
