The collaboration between NABA young talents and TIMVISION Floating Theatre Summer Fest 2021, the summer festival, lasting until September 9th, conceived and produced by Alice nella Città, the autonomous and parallel section of the Rome Film Fest, dedicated to the younger generations, in collaboration with EUR SPA, a window through European summer cinematographic events, continues.

On August 30th at 9 pm the first floating theatre in Rome will host “NABA@FilmFestivals: giovani sguardi d'autore” (“Young author’s points of view”), a selection of 5 short films realised within the last few years by the alumni of the BA in Media Design and Multimedia Arts as thesis projects, selected by internationally relevant film festivals such as Locarno Film Festival, Venice International Film Critics’ Week, Torino Film Festival and Lovers Film Festival. The short movies represent on screen the themes of love, sexuality, family, sorrow, second generations and coming of age.

The showcased short movies will be:

  • Alice, by Chiara Leonardi, selected at SIC@SIC of Venice International Film Festival 2016;
  • La baracca, by Federico Di Corato and Alessandro De Leo, selected within the section Pardi di Domani of Locarno Film Festival in 2014;
  • Loris sta bene, by Simone Bozzelli, presented at Lovers Film Festival – Torino LGBTQI Visions 2017;
  • Col Tempo, by Sara Dresti, winner of the ex-aequo prize as the best short movie in the Italian Short Movies section of Torino Film Festival in 2019;
  • Where the leaves fall, by Xin Alessandro Zheng, selected at SIC@SIC in 2020.

An important occasion that fulfills the already existing collaboration with the summer festival, born with the involvement of the students of the Academy’s BA in Graphic Design and Art Direction that created the visual identity and communication campaign of TIMVISION Floating Theatre Summer Fest 2021, as well as the production of the animated opening of the festival, by the students of the BA in Media Design and Multimedia Arts. The screening will be introduced by the students that realised the visual and the video opening, with a focus on the creative idea, the production, and the collaboration with Floating Theatre.
