NABA, in collaboration with Art Defender, presents L'arte e il mercato dell'arte: temi e scenari per comprendere il sistema dell'arte contemporanea, a programme of talks dedicated to the most current and pressing topics in the contemporary debate on the art system and the art market, taking place between April and May 2025 at the Art Defender venue (Viale Bianca Maria, 24, Milan). The programme arises from a new and stimulating collaboration between the Academic Master in Contemporary Art Markets of the Academy and Art Defender—the company, with offices in Turin, Milan, Bologna, Florence and Rome, that provides integrated services for art collection management. It includes three events open to the public, featuring the participation of professionals from the contemporary art sector. 

 

NABA, in collaboration with Art Defender, presents “L'arte e il mercato dell'arte: temi e scenari per comprendere il sistema dell'arte contemporanea”: the three talks  

The conversations, curated by Cristina Masturzo (Academic Master in Contemporary Art Markets Course Leader), Rischa Paterlini (NABA lecturer), and Marta Tosi (General Director of Art Defender), will focus on economic, fiscal and legal themes, with an in-depth look at their present and future impact on the dynamics of the art sector. 

The first talk is scheduled for April 8 at 6:00 PM and will explore the theme Collezioni corporate in Italia. Il collezionismo contemporaneo: il segno dell'arte nelle imprese e il segno delle imprese nell'arte, a discussion on contemporary collecting, the mark of art in business, and the mark of business in art. Speakers will include Ilaria Bonacossa (Director of Palazzo Ducale in Genoa and NABA lecturer), Roberto Spada (Founder of Spada Partners and collector), Enzo Nembrini (entrepreneur and collector), and the artist Agostino Iacurci. 

The second talk will take place on May 8 at 6:00 PM and will address the theme “Arte e Fiscalità. La gestione consapevole delle collezioni d’arte, offering insights into the informed management of art collections. Speakers will include Paolo Scarioni, Pierpaolo Angelucci and Antonio Fiorentino Martino from the Angelucci Scarioni law firm. The talk series will conclude on May 28, again at 6:00 PM, with Cos'è un'opera d'arte? Dal diritto dell'arte alle sfide dell'Intelligenza Artificiale: una guida per i collezionisti. Speakers will include Alessandra Donati (University of Milano-Bicocca lecturer, lecturer in Art Market Law on the Academic Master in Contemporary Art Markets at NABA, and of counsel lawyer at ADVANT-Nctm), Novelio Furin (Furin Grotto Law Firm and collector), Francesca Bruno di Clarafond and Alessandro Viglione (Law Firms Simon WealthLex and Lauri Viglione Penalisti and collectors). 

The topics discussed during the talks, developed in collaboration with the students of NABA’s Academic Master in Contemporary Art Markets throughout the 2024/25 academic year, will be collected in a dedicated publication.
