On the occasion of Milan Fashion Week S/S 2026, on September 22, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM, NABA will present the third edition of SHOWROOM – MASTER OF ARTS IN FASHION DESIGN. The event, open to the public and industry professionals, will be hosted in the Arena space, Building D, at NABA’s Milan campus (Via C. Darwin 20). It will showcase the collections created by students of the MA in Fashion Design as the outcome of their academic journey. The MA aims to shape and guide students’ visions into projects that demonstrate their ability to manage research methodologies, design, prototyping, and representation with coherence, independence, and professionalism within the field of fashion design.

SHOWROOM – MASTER OF ARTS IN FASHION DESIGN: purpose of the event and collections on display

Curated by Alessandra Modarelli (Art Director and NABA Lecturer) and promoted by Colomba Leddi (NABA Fashion Design Area Leader) together with Luca Belotti (NABA Fashion Design Area MAs and Academic Masters Course Leader), the event was created to foster dialogue and reflection, while opening up to the city. SHOWROOM narrates stories of cultural influences with an international character within the Milan campus of the Academy, which has been a vibrant hub of creative thought in the Navigli district for over forty years—reminding us of all that the language of fashion can still be a powerful message of resilience.

Through the presentation of their garments and related research materials produced during the course (fashion books, visual books, material and accessory portfolios, etc.), students will have the opportunity to engage with professionals, companies, journalists, stylists, buyers, and the wider community.

SHOWROOM – MASTER OF ARTS IN FASHION DESIGN: the jury’s selection for Fashion Graduate Italia 2025

A jury – composed of journalists, lecturers, industry professionals including stylists and buyers, as well as citizens – will evaluate the collections on display, comprising garments, accessories and lookbooks offering further insight into the projects presented. The selected collections will be showcased at FASHION GRADUATE ITALIA 2025, the event promoted by Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda ETS, during the NABA fashion show scheduled for Thursday, October 30 at 2.30 PM at BASE Milano (via Bergognone 34). During FASHION GRADUATE ITALIA 2025, it will also be possible to visit a booth featuring projects by students from the Academy’s Fashion Design Area, open throughout the event from October 28 to 30.

DESIGNERS AND MAKERS: the exhibition in Building D of NABA’s Milan campus

On the same day, September 22, SHOWROOM will feature the exhibition of the projects 4abrics4Di44erent4uture by students of the Master of Arts in Fashion Design. The course, conceived by Marta Santambrogio (NABA Lecturer) together with Salvatore Averzano (NABA Textile Laboratories Manager) and Martina Camillo (Textile Laboratories Assistant), invited students to rethink the traditional use of materials in fashion, addressing issues such as sustainability, inequalities and the emergence of new imaginaries, through speculative design and radical thinking.

As part of DESIGNERS & MAKERS, NABA will also present an exhibition of projects realised by students of the Master of Arts in Textile Design, offering an overview of fabrics, print and manipulation experiments, as well as knitwear garments developed entirely within the Academy’s Laboratories.

DESIGNERS AND MAKERS: “Tinto di blu, agrivoltaico ed erbe tintorie, in viaggio tra energia, moda e innovazione”, the symposium in collaboration with Repower

Also on September 22, a seminar in collaboration with Repower will take place at 11:00 AM in Classroom G0.4 of NABA’s Milan campus to explore natural dyeing on iconic materials through a sustainable and experimental approach.

The study day, moderated by Chiara Tronville (journalist and NABA Lecturer), will be divided into two main sessions: in the morning, the presentation of the experimental project developed with Repower, in collaboration with Università Statale di Milano - Dipartimento di Scienze Agrarie e Ambientali - Produzione, Territorio, Agroenergia e Officina del Colore Naturale, through institutional contributions and the screening of a documentary video retracing the different stages of the project. In the afternoon, two Round Tables will be held, bringing together scholars, agronomists, companies, representatives of the textile supply chain and designers.
