NABA is glad to turn the spotlight on design in the live presentation of “Design from the Alps 1920-2020 that will take place on April 22nd at 6.30 pm on NABA’s YouTube channel. The panel is the fifth Talk part of the initiative Books at NABA, born to present each time a different book, connected to the Academy’s Faculty and disciplines.

The trilingual catalogue “Design from the Alps 1920-2020” published by Scheidegger & Spiess (Zurich) is the result of an in-depth research focused on the aesthetic and cultural aspects of the design products "from the Alps".

Both the research and the exhibition, hosted within the venue of Kunst Meran/Merano Arte, were the result of the collaboration between Free University of Bozen-Bolzano and NABA. The catalogue, edited by Claudio Larcher, NABA Design Area Leader, Massimo Martignoni, historian of modern architecture and lecturer within NABA course in History of design, and Ursula Schnitzer, art historian and project coordinator with Kunst Meran, “It’s a story about objects, inventions and experiments, some successful and some less so, deriving from a porous region, straddling different but communicating cultures, the natural bridge linking the Germanic north and Mediterranean south of Europe”.

Claudio Larcher and Massimo Martignoni will take part to the book presentation, along with designer and lecturer Kuno Prey.

The panel will be available on April 22nd at 6.30 pm on NABA’s YouTube channel.
