The Project

BIVIO Milano presents a challenge to the students of the BA in Fashion Design NABA for the create an "accessory/uniform" that distinguishes the staff BIVIO, using second hand garments to give life designing new forms, reducing production waste.

Focal points for the team are the versatility of the uniform and the functionality of always having at one's fingertips all the tools useful in the different phases of the work. Bivio will provide some of the items in its warehouse, as materials on which NABA students can work.
The winning project will be produced and will become the official uniform for all BIVIO Milano stores.

OLDER Engineered by NABA: sustainable uniforms via Fashion Design students’ upcycling

The NABA project developed in collaboration with OLDER Studio involved BA Fashion Design students in transforming and reinterpreting work uniforms from the brand’s Italo-Danish permanent collection through upcycling and customisation practices.

NABA x Archivio Mantero: Future Makers — the foulard as a meeting point between art, fashion and textiles

“Future Makers” is a multidisciplinary project in which NABA students, working with Archivio Mantero, transformed the foulard into a narrative device: through archival research, materials and hybrid languages, they created works that link manufacturing memory with future visions.

On September 22, NABA and Repower presented “Tinto di Blu. Agrivoltaico ed erbe tintorie, in viaggio tra energia, moda e innovazione”, a symposium highlighting a project developed with students that explored the use of agrivoltaics to cultivate dye plants and their potential applications in fashion and textiles.
