The Project
Siemens, European leader in the business that bases its positioning on innovation, technology and design, has always developed technologies to improve people’s lives. To interpret current needs and to try to design the spaces of the future, Siemens has created "Prototype the Future". This project has also involved the students of the two-year specialist in Interior Design, who, led by the architect, brand ambassador of Siemens, and professor Francesco Librizzi, have redesigned the living spaces projecting them towards the future.
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the disciplines related to space, involving them from the beginning in their role as designers and authors, stimulating a collective reflection on how design is at the service of humanity, in the context of a world that changes and is transformed also thanks to crises.
It’s hard to work out a single definition of "space," but a designer can imagine reinterpreting any existing environment and taking it into a new dimension. Knowing how to capture and enhance the characteristics of each space is the best way to fully exploit its potential.
From the projects created from the collaboration with Siemens, will be made prototypes to be exhibited at the Venice Biennale and the winning project will be realized a full-scale prototype, in which spaces, furniture and appliances will show an innovative proposal, versatile and functional of home environment.
