The first event of the "NABA Media Explorer" array of Milan and Rome events, conceived by Vincenzo Cuccia (Media Design and New Technologies and Set Design Area Leader) to showcase the uniqueness of the Academy's Media Design and New Technologies Area, is the Milanese showcase "NABA - Percorsi d’Autore" (NABA - Author's Paths). Conceived within the Bachelor of Arts in Film and Animation of the Milan campus, from an idea by its Course Leader Alessandro Bertante, it is a collaboration with Cineteca Milano, coming to life at Cineteca Milano Arlecchino (located at Via S. Pietro all’Orto 9, Milan), offering an innovative perspective on the world of cinema through a journey among various artistic expressions and auteur sensitivities. From February to June, there will be seven public encounters, each featuring a screening and dedicated talk, featuring some of the foremost directors of contemporary Italian cinema who, moderated by Roberto Manassero and Dario Zonta (curators and NABA lecturers), will discuss the themes of their films with a particular focus on the diverse cinematic representations of the human-work relationship, between realism and visionary outlook.

The scheduled "NABA – Percorsi d’Autore" appointments

On February 5 at 6 PM, the “NABA – Percorsi d’Autore” series will open with the screening of "Il Posto" by Mattia Colombo and Gianluca Matarrese, followed by an in-depth discussion with Colombo, moderated by Roberto Manassero. On February 13 at 6 PM, director Alice Rohrwacher will be the guest of the talk hosted by Dario Zonta, where, after the screening, she will talk about her new feature film "La Chimera", one of the Italian titles competing at the last Cannes Film Festival. Continuing at 6 PM on March 25, Manassero and Zonta will moderate a session with Michelangelo Frammartino, featuring the projection and presentation of his film "Il Buco". On April 9, director of photography Luca Bigazzi will attend the showing of “Mi piace lavorare (Mobbing)" by Francesca Comencini followed by a detailed analysis. April 22 will be the turn of Davide Maldi, showcasing his film “L'apprendistato” with a subsequent discussion. The series on May 20 will host NABA alumnus Simone Bozzelli, exhibiting his feature film “Patagonia” and engaging in a talk about it. Finally, the concluding event of the series will feature the screening of “Caveman” by Tommaso Landucci and its subsequent debate, scheduled for the June 3.

NABA students and Cineteca members will have free access to all the series’ events. A reduced rate will be available for the public.
