For the third consecutive year, NABA and Fondazione Cinema per Roma are promoting the Z-PITCH contest within Festa del Cinema di Roma. The presentation took place on October 26 at 3:30 p.m. at the LAZIO, TERRA DI CINEMA space of the REGIONE LAZIO Auditorium Parco della Musica, Viale Pietro de Coubertin 30 in Rome.

The audiovisual storytelling contest and the presentation event

Z-PITCH is a contest open to students or newly graduates from Italian Cinema and Media Design Schools. The initiative renews the collaboration with the Civica Scuola di Cinema Luchino Visconti and the Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli. The aim is to enhance the didactic experience and creativity of the new generations in the audio-visual field. It also wants to foster the meeting between professionals and young talents.

The contest is, therefore, aimed at Gen Z and those who want to propose audiovisual storytelling projects, whether feature films or serial projects, capable of identifying contemporary and relevant themes. Candidate content must be original and unproduced. Students interested are invited to submit proposals from Dec. 4, 2023, to Feb. 29, 2024, and the best six submissions, selected by a panel of industry professionals, will have the opportunity to participate in a day-long masterclass of advanced training and preparation for the frontal pitching session.

At the launch of the competition, there was held a talk with a panel presenting the project. Speakers will include Silvia Simoncelli (NABA Head of Education - Rome), Vincenzo Cuccia (NABA Media Design and New Technologies Area Leader), Francesca Staasch (Course Advisor Leader of the Academic Master in Screenwriting for Series), Alexia De Vito (Special Projects - Fondazione Cinema per Roma), and some of the finalist students from previous editions.
