An EU award for a tool designed to guide, facilitate and improve the work experience of all those involved in the stage sector: the "Theatre Dictionary" got the European Language Label 2022. The book was born within the Academy's BA in Set Design in 2020, and this recognition is a real "seal of quality". For over twenty years, the European Language Label has certified the value of initiatives in the field of language teaching and learning.
The book and multilingualism in the theatre field
Awarded by the Erasmus+ national agencies Indire and Inapp, the European Language Label aims to encourage initiatives in the field of language learning and teaching. The third book of the NABA Insights series published by Quodlibet editore is one of the twelve projects selected for the 2022 edition. Edited by Margherita Palli (Course Advisor Leader of the BA in Scenography) with the collaboration of NABA lecturers Marco Cristini and Eleonora Peronetti, the "Theatre Dictionary" facilitate the interpersonal connections of professionals working in the stage sector. Over a thousand field-related terms have been translated into Italian, English, German, French, Spanish, Russian and Chinese. In addition, it includes more than one hundred illustrations and a review of rituals, superstitions, customs and traditions in the world's theatres. Thanks to the attention to multilingualism, the book is a tool for orienting users by clarifying the specialised vocabulary. The project awarded by the Inapp national agency was selected and presented by the NABA Research Centre and Innovation Hub, one of the aims of which is the enhancement of the high-profile content already existing in the Academy.
