Open House Milan 2023 and urban architecture at NABA

The talk that will be held on campus focuses on urban humanism - a theme that is the leitmotif of the 2023 edition of the event as well as one of the cornerstones of the Academic Master in New Urban Design. The development of physical and digital cities, the urban landscape, the environmental balance, and the quality and flexibility of public spaces: the talk will explore some of the topics of the course. Here, the urban intervention will be understood as a collective artefact in continuous transformation. It is subject to a continuity process of the communities that inhabit it. The panel will be attended by: Germana De Michelis, Silvia Iannelli, Claudio Larcher, Luca Poncellini, Stefano Ragazzo, Italo Rota, Ing. Giuseppe Savoia, Maurizio Scalzi. The panel will be in Italian with the possibility of simultaneous translation.

The architecture of the campus itself will be under the spotlight on May 13. NABA students will guide visitors through the Via C. Darwin campus, composed today of fourteen buildings. The 1930s-style structures – which in 1894 formed the Istituto Sieroterapico Milanese – have housed the Accademia: a city within a city since 2004. For the project, a special thanks goes to Elisa Poli.
