Italo Rota has always chased and pursued an idea of schooling where students, lecturers, and the outside world are connected by a common, mobile, and constantly evolving learning process. It's a project that is both pedagogical and cosmogonic.
His journey and that of NABA have deeply intertwined for many years, and his contribution, also as a Scientific Advisor, today his most precious legacy, has manifested in the ability shared with the Academy to preserve the multiplicity of experiences, in order to collectively design the future.
His reflection on the role of designers as builders of physical and mental space, as innovators and inventors of solutions, was closely linked to that of contemporary and future schooling. We remember Italo with the greatest lesson he left to the school: all of us, thanks to him, will continue to learn by doing and teach by learning. Working on an innovative project, we can find ourselves, according to his words, "in a beautiful place in nature to produce fragments of the future."
