NABA and BAM-Bottega delle Arti e dei Mestieri, together with other schools and professionals, is part of an important project âFare Moda ad Addis Abebaâ dedicated to support and develop people and economies in distress, in collaboration with the Ethiopian Association Sara Cannizzaro âSCCMAâ by Addis Abeba.
NABA academics and students got to work with spontaneity and passion for Addis Abeba laboratory of BAM in which a group of local women could take advantage from a full educational path.
They learned not only the standard techniques of tailoring, but also to revisit traditional process and ornaments in order to offer them to a wider audience than the one interested in the local crafts.
The result is a collection which contain all the elements of tradition, the tissues and manual works, but fresh and new in its look. Ethiopian women were able to realize a cooperative for the independent management of its own production. The future support will be dedicated to the business growth.
