Q: WHAT KIND OF SEMESTER ABROAD PROGRAMS ARE YOU OFFERING?
A: There is a semester abroad program focusing on Design and one on Fashion. Both programs are in English and require English proficiency.

Q: WHEN DO THEY START?
A:   FALL SEMESTER: End of August to Mid December 
     SPRING SEMESTER: Mid January to Mid May
FALL 2011 : Orientation begins on August 24th. Students Arrival is planed for August 22nd and 23rd, 2011.

Q: WHEN DO I NEED TO APPLY?
A: The application process may take over a month. You will also need to keep into consideration the time your country’s Italian Embassy/Consulate needs in order to issue the student Visa.
Therefore, we highly suggest you to apply as early as you can and no later than: June 15th for the Fall Semester session and November 15th for the Spring Semester session..

Q: HOW DO I FIND ACCOMMODATION?
Option 1: NABA supports students in finding accommodation in apartments walking distance from NABA, Max. 4 students per apt., kitchen use, one bathroom, and internet free wi-fi
All apartments are fully refurbished and accommodation is in double occupancy per room.
Each student has available towels, blankets sheets, one bed, one desk, chair and lamp. Kitchen and refrigerator are in common use.

Keys delivery: Monday-Friday 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Cost: euro 2700 per semester all inclusive


Airport pick up: upon separate payment



Option 2: NABA offer to those who need different options  recommended Real estate Agencies available upon separate payment (800 euro per accommodation chosen), to show different accommodation options.


Student have to notify to NABA the option chosen 90 days before arrival as well the payment for option 1.



In case of booking delay for option 1, NABA has no obligation versus the student that automatically will be moved into option 2 .

Q: DO I NEED A VISA?
A: If you are not an EU citizen, you will need a Student Visa. Please check with your Country’s Italian Embassy or Consulate for requirements. . If you need one, we will provide an Acceptance Letter (upon complete payment of the tuition fee) in order for you to obtain a visa from your local Italian Consulate/Embassy. Please note that the visa application and issuing process may take over a month, so consider applying for a visa well in advance. Please note that applying for a visa in time is your responsibility.

STEP BY STEP PROCESS FOR SEMESTER ABROAD PROGRAM

  1. Check NABA website and NABA brochures to learn which of our two Semester Abroad Programs will fit you best. http://www.naba.it/page.php?menuId=128&menuLeft=101&contentId=1085
  2. Discuss the opportunity and terms with your Home University Academic Advisor at the Study Abroad Office about NABA Semester Programs. Make sure that your University will provide you with the equivalent credits for attending the Semester Abroad Program chosen.
  3. Make sure to fulfill all the requirements for applying to NABA Semester Abroad Program (such as English proficiency, GPA..). For list of requirements, please read carefully section ‘Admission Terms & Conditions’ and ‘Admission Requirements’ in the NABA Semester Abroad  Application form,
  4. Complete NABA Semester Abroad application form (including signature), write a letter of motivation (max one page) and prepare a brief portfolio to be sent or brought to your Home University Study Abroad department or send directly to NABA.
  5. After being accepted and have completed the payment, you will receive the Official Acceptance letter from NABA.
  6. With that letter and the health insurance requirements (and any other papers your Italian Embassy/Consulate needs ), you should make an appointment at your nearest Italian Embassy/Consulate and apply for the student Visa.
  7. Once you have been granted the Visa at the Italian Embassy/Consulate in your country, buy the plane ticket to Milano and plan your arrival on the Arrival dates dedicated to the Semester Abroad students.
