Before starting the application procedure, you should contact your Erasmus/Exchange coordinator at your home institution and enquire about study abroad options. If NABA is a partner of your home institution (see NABA’s Exchange partner list ) and you have been given permission to apply for a study abroad period on one of our courses, you can do so by following the steps outlined below:
Step 1: Read the Visiting Exchange Student Guide which will either be available to download or by contacting the International Exchange Office.
The NABA website also offers information on courses available.
Step 2: Collect an application form, application form for Italian language course, guidelines from your Erasmus/Exchange coordinator and complete the forms. Alternatively these can be downloaded from the NABA website and you can print them out.
Step 3: Write a letter of motivation - maximum one A4 page and create a portfolio (electronic CD .pdf/.pps file or traditional format - portfolio no larger than A4 and please do not include original work).
Step 4: Make arrangements for the completed application forms and learning agreement (including signatures), the letter of motivation and the portfolio to be sent to: International Exchange Office, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, Via Darwin, 20 – 20143 Milano, Italy
Step 5: Once we receive your completed application pack it will be forwarded to the course leader of your chosen NABA course. The course leader will evaluate your work, your motivation and your knowledge of the Italian language and report back to the International Exchange Office.
Step 6: You will be notified of the outcome of your application by e-mail. If successful, you will receive a confirmation pack containing various information, including start and end date, contact person details, practical information etc.
Step 7: During your study period here at NABA you will be expected to participate with the same commitment and enthusiasm of any other NABA student. If you have any problems or questions, feel free to contact the International Exchange Office for support and/or advice.
Step 8: Towards the end of your study period at NABA, please make sure to fill in the evaluation and report form which will either be available to download or by contacting the International Exchange Office. Please hand this in at the International Exchange Office before leaving NABA.
