Il 20 ottobre 2017 Marco Scotini, Direttore del Dipartimento di Arti Visive NABA, terrà la conferenza Theatricality of Exhibitions: starting from Anren presso Xi’An Academy of Fine Arts (Shaanxi) in collaborazione con L-Art University. In questa occasione Scotini metterà a fuoco alcune componenti teatrali e drammaturgiche che presiedono le forme dell’exhibition making. Il concetto di esposizione verrà analizzato in quanto possibile stage dove le opere mettono in scena narrative di oggetti anziché attori.

La conferenza partirĂ  da The Szechwan Tale. Teatro e Storia, la sezione che Scotini curerĂ  per la prima edizione della Biennale di Anren. Nel caso particolare Scotini si soffermerĂ  sul rapporto tra Mei Lanfang, il grande e leggendario maestro dell’Opera di Pechino, e Bertolt Brecht. 

Infine, approfondirĂ  i temi della propria ricerca curatoriale piĂą recente attraverso Too early Too late: Middle-East and Modernity (Bologna, 2015), Non aligned modernity (Milano/Budapest, 2016), The white hunter: African memories and representation (Milano, 2017), tutte mostre sul tema del rapporto con le culture non-occidentali.

To enrich NABA portfolio: the BA in Painting and Visual Arts, the BA in Media Design and Multimedia Arts, the BA in Theatre and Exhibit Design, the MA in Communication Design, the MA in Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies, the Master in Photography and Visual Design and the Master in Contemporary Art Markets will be provided in English, enlarging the bilingual offering of the School.  

In addition, the entire BA, MA and Master’s programs are now completely double-track!

These additions will meet the demands of the Italian and foreign students who year after year choose NABA as their specialization school, nurturing the international atmosphere of the academy.

NABA students of the Master in Creative Advertising: Tarek El Shishiny, Windy Huang, Alessandro Erik Adorno and Marco Fiecconi were awarded at the 2017 ADCI Awards thanks to the Identified (a new Apple app that helps parents find their missing children by using fingerprint recognition) project. The video was produced for the Future Lion 2017 Contest that aimed to connect an audience to a product or service from a global brand in a way that wasn’t possible three years ago.

The final ceremony was held during the IF Festival at the Teatro Parenti in Milan on September 30, 2017.

Gli studenti del Master di Creative Advertising, Tarek El Shishiny, Windy Huang, Alessandro Erik Adorno e Marco Fiecconi, si sono aggiudicati un argento nella categoria Studenti all’interno del contest ADCI Awards 2017 grazie al progetto video Identified, una nuova applicazione di Apple che aiuta i genitori a trovare i propri bambini quando si perdono, utilizzando il riconoscimento delle impronte digitali. Il video era stato precedentemente creato per partecipare al contest Future Lion 2017 di Cannes che aveva l’obiettivo di mettere in collegamento un’audience a loro scelta con un prodotto o un servizio di un brand globale in un modo non possibile fino a tre anni fa.

La cerimonia finale del contest si è svolta all’interno dell’IF Festival presso il Teatro Parenti di Milano lo scorso sabato 30 settembre.

From September 4 to 8, 2017 took place at UNITEC Honduras, institution part of the Laureate International Universities network, a training session hosted by NABA faculty members to achieve the NABA International Certificate Program. The training session revolved around three main activities:

- ToT – Training of Trainers: The ToT was developed in 3 parallel sessions: Graphic Design and Art Direction, Italian Fashion Design and Design of Products and Interiors. The ToT involved 29 teachers from 3 different institutions: UNITEC Honduras, Uip Panama and ULatina Costa Rica.

- 4 Workshops with 85 Unitec students.

- 1 Conference titled “Design and Play, Play and Design” held by NABA own speakers: Liuba Popova, Paolo Borrelli, Luca Buttafava and Diego Terna.

Well done to the Faculty and the Staff members involved in the project!

Dal 4 all’8 settembre 2017 si è tenuto presso la UNITEC Honduras, istituzione partner del network Laureate International Universities, il corso di formazione tenuto dai membri di NABA per l’ottenimento dell’International Certificate Program. La sessione di training si è concentrata su tre attività diverse:

Laureate International Universities continues to establish itself as an example of multidisciplinary and international approach to training.

In mid-September, the partnership between NABA and BiTS - institution part of the Laureate International Universities network – ended. The course aimed to prepare the students from the German institution to obtain the Fashion Management Specialization Certificate by NABA. The students involved took part in the last two modules of the program, which ended on September 22, 2017.

Laureate International Universities continua ad affermarsi come esempio di approccio alla formazione multidisciplinare e internazionale.

A metà settembre, è volta al termine la collaborazione tra NABA e BiTS, istituzione parte del network Laureate International Universities, che aveva l’obiettivo di preparare gli studenti appartenenti all’istituzione tedesca al fine di ottenere il titolo didattico Fashion Management Specialization Certificate di NABA. Gli studenti coinvolti hanno partecipato agli ultimi due moduli del Programma, terminato il 22 Settembre 2017.

On September 28 in Faenza, three students of the BA in Design Sara Monacchi, Andrea Pelino e Luca Toscano won the Future is Design-Premio Nazionale delle Arti 2016/2017 contest in collaboration with MIUR in the section dedicated to Product Design.

2017 jury was composed by an outstanding professionals selected by the MIUR: Anty Pansera, former president of ISIA-Faenza and design historian expert, Beppe Finessi – INVENTARIO Mag Director, the industrial designer Giulio Iacchetti and Massimiliano Tonelli –Artribune Director and Digital content manager of Gambero Rosso. Among the attendees: Michele Moretta, MIUR Director – Managing Director for student development and internationalisation of higher education, Giuseppe Furlanis, MIUR technical advisor on Design and ISIA Chairman of the Conference of Presidents and Directors, Massimo Isola, Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Culture of the municipality of Faenza.

Our students presented the GLIFO-project: a lightweight, customizable and tailor made writing tool realized by 3D printing technology. It allows people who suffer from cerebral and physical disorders to write and draw freely, through a correct hand stimulation. The goal of this project is to be able to perform the physical rehabilitation in homes and schools, therefore improving the social integration of these children. Glifo is part of UNICO - The Other Design, a platform of products-services created by Opendot and TOG Foundation, which gathers a collection of beautiful and functional objects co-designed by designers, therapists, kids with disabilities and their families.

Finalists work will be exhibited at the PNA Future is Design exhibition that has opened on September 28 and will close its doors on October 15, 2017. Furthermore, it will be published a bilingual catalogue curated by the PNA (Premio Nazionale delle Arti).
