We are happy to announce the launch of the "TERRA" project, sponsored by OIKOS in partnership with NABA and financed by the AICS - Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development. Thanks to this project, NABA students and teachers of the BA in Design will join forces with artisan laboratories of vegetable tanning and leather processing in Maasai pastoral communities of Northern Tanzania to encourage the development of - mainly feminine - micro-enterprises based on the design of new objects and accessories in leather.
Luca Poncellini (C-Park Advisor Leader) and Vered Zaykovsky (Professor of the BA in Design) travelled to Arusha-Mkuru (Tanzania) to explore the social context and breathe the foreigner culture. Afterward, they will share with the students the forms of expression of the Masai traditional culture, aiming to work on a new collection of traditional products with innovative features.
NABA students will experience this unique opportunity!
