Claudio Larcher

Course Leader, BA in Design

Born in Milan in 1971, he graduated in Architecture at Politecnico of Milan.

He transferred first to Madrid and then to Barcelona, he develops research activities at “Centro Estudi de la Mediterranea” and cooperates with several Spanish architecture studios (AxE, Sole y Espelt, Actar Arquitectura).

In 2001 he returned to Italy to study Web design at Domus Academy and work as a freelance professional in design and architecture, founding the studio Modoloco design together with Flavio Mazzone.

Founded in 2002, Modoloco design was born from the encounter between two architects, who are united by a common project approach in design and visual arts, pursuing the objective of building a space open to experimentation and research, where different cultures and experiences materialize into forms of architecture, design and visual communication.

Modoloco cooperates with companies in the furnishing and lighting industry and has been the curator of several settings and interior design. Among their clients are: Gianfranco Ferrè, Danese, Cocinelle, Bieffe, Konig, Muranodue, Coni Lombardia, Segno, Sphaus, Mister Wood, International View, Rossociliegia, Ai Lati Lights, Talleruno, Manufacturas Celda, Rf-yamakawa and Dinos.

He has taught at the Faculty of Design and Arts of the Free University of Bozen, Politecnico of Milan, Scuola Politecnica di Design and Scuola Italiana Design. He gave a series of lectures in universities and schools worldwide including Istituto Europeo di Design and Elisava of Barcelona and the University Jaume I of Castellon de la Plana.

He took part in many fairs and exhibitions in Italy, Japan, Spain, France, UK and Sweden and is the author of the books “Globetrotting designers” (ed. Compositori) and “Design, scuola e solidarietà” (ed. Fausto Lupetti)
