On September 28 in Faenza, three students of the BA in Design Sara Monacchi, Andrea Pelino e Luca Toscano won the Future is Design-Premio Nazionale delle Arti 2016/2017 contest in collaboration with MIUR in the section dedicated to Product Design.

2017 jury was composed by an outstanding professionals selected by the MIUR: Anty Pansera, former president of ISIA-Faenza and design historian expert, Beppe Finessi – INVENTARIO Mag Director, the industrial designer Giulio Iacchetti and Massimiliano Tonelli –Artribune Director and Digital content manager of Gambero Rosso. Among the attendees: Michele Moretta, MIUR Director – Managing Director for student development and internationalisation of higher education, Giuseppe Furlanis, MIUR technical advisor on Design and ISIA Chairman of the Conference of Presidents and Directors, Massimo Isola, Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Culture of the municipality of Faenza.

Our students presented the GLIFO-project: a lightweight, customizable and tailor made writing tool realized by 3D printing technology. It allows people who suffer from cerebral and physical disorders to write and draw freely, through a correct hand stimulation. The goal of this project is to be able to perform the physical rehabilitation in homes and schools, therefore improving the social integration of these children. Glifo is part of UNICO - The Other Design, a platform of products-services created by Opendot and TOG Foundation, which gathers a collection of beautiful and functional objects co-designed by designers, therapists, kids with disabilities and their families.

Finalists work will be exhibited at the PNA Future is Design exhibition that has opened on September 28 and will close its doors on October 15, 2017. Furthermore, it will be published a bilingual catalogue curated by the PNA (Premio Nazionale delle Arti).
